Vitaliy Agapaiev

Biography

Like most artists from his environment, he began with graffiti. Subsequently, he began to supplement his creative practice with posters, stickers and graphic works.
In 2012 he graduated from the V. Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Institute of Arts, Department of Fine Arts and Decorative and Applied Arts.
Subsequently, Vitaliy founded his own company to create and apply DIY textile screws called SQUARE NA. Then another b-side project, IDEATH, is the one -online design office exclusively geared to the needs of cultural institutions.
At the moment, the basis of Vitaliy Agapeyev's creative practice is graphics, antlers, installations and media art. In his works, the artist usually works with such concepts as sacredness, consciousness, control and transgression.
Lives and works in Kyiv and Ternopil.

Works

The project "Top of altruism" consists of four parts in the size of 60x90 cm. The center of work, 2 parts of the polyptych, is a print on canvas, and the other two side - acrylic painting. In the middle of the composition, the image of a stylized ancient cemetery is permeated with bright light rays, which hints at biblical scenes of ascension, healing and visualization of a miracle. A similar miracle demands from the viewer and the work itself, which calls for meaningful life and interaction with other actors. It serves as a statement that most of the manifestations of compassion, regret, charity and the rest of the set of humane feelings in our country are caused by the irreversibility of events only by the dead. That is, there is a kind of oxymoron, because living people who need it - are deprived, and those who do not need to get the maximum.
