Serhii Dekaliuk

Biography

In my works, I seek a personal visual language that lies at the intersection of figurative and abstract art. Moving beyond the visible, I strive to discover new possibilities within space, exploring the primacy of forms and their synthesis. I regard chaos as one of the means of achieving balance; however, the process of creation is based on simplification and generalisation. Thus, I am constantly searching for connections between colour, shape, and line in space, and I recreate these in abstract form, which opens up endless possibilities for connection through the exploration of the surrounding world. Abstract works remind us of the existence of another world, where, beyond rational materialism, there is room for the unknown and the incomprehensible. Here, each person sees their own projections, and therein lies its advantage. In the works I have created, there are numerous themes that resonate with me. These include the relationships between people, liberation from evil, and the triumph of good. It is a call to free ourselves from the superfluous, particularly that which prevents us from being happy.

Sergiy Mykolaiovych Dekaliuk was born on June 16, 1983, in Zbarazh, Ternopil Oblast. In 2000, he enrolled at the Ternopil branch of Uzhgorod College of Arts named after A. Erdeli. Works

"Simply Life"

Personal exhibition "Simply Life" by Serhii Dekaliuk, an artist and permanent resident of our residency projects. In the exhibition, we collected works from different series that create an atmosphere of elevation and powerful energy, which the author always shares with the viewer. Serhii's main medium is abstract oil painting, although some works tend toward figurative art, about which the author says: "they are all united by the process, some works are just lucky to become figurative, and others are not, and perhaps it's unknown who is luckier))) like in life..." The power of calm and the power of movement intersecting give a concentrated feeling of life. The value lies in experiencing simple sensations, being fascinated by simple things, the ability to dig up your own simple fascinating ideas in layers of meaning. All these simple things are reflected in expressive spots and lines to be found on Serhii's canvases. Enjoy the diversity of manners in the "Simply Life" project. Maybe you'll also understand which ones are luckier)) The perception of abstraction is like perfect love - you can't move from the spot, you feel bliss, take it and enjoy unhurriedly, and if something doesn't click - move on - it's not your love...))
