Biography

Mykyta Filonenko
@marginal_act was born in Kharkiv in 1993.
He graduated from the Kharkiv Art School in 2012.
In 2016, he received a bachelor's degree from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with a specialization in Monumental Painting. He began creating games while still in the Academy.
During the initial period from 2014 to 2017, he experimented with Ukrainian political themes relevant to the post-Euromaidan period.
Following this, he transitioned to the development of indie games on a regular basis and created several projects that explore contemporary horror themes. One of his games, featuring a blind man named Boris in a retirement home, places the character in constant danger and allows him to "see" only by touch.
Later on, he ventured into developing bright and comical games. One of his games, titled "Why Pizza?" requires the player to earn money for their family by working as a pizza delivery person while wearing a large, cumbersome head mask that forces them to keep their head down, making it challenging to navigate levels filled with dangerous obstacles.
Finally, in 2022, he created an interactive horror game about the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Players will have to navigate through several spaces based on real events, linked to brutalist architecture in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

The Sea under by the sea under the sea

Horror about the likely future in the territories from the Black Sea to the Carpathians. The gathering momentum of military conflicts in the world, the delay in the global agreement on the prevention of global warming, the dominance of the language of military power over common sense encourages us to think about the worst scenarios, the probable future - a global flood. The events unfolding in the territories of Ukraine raises the question of the interdependence of countries from global policies, and immersion in game dynamics raises the question of personal responsibility.
