Works

Lines of Demarcation

A series of works, created according to classical principles of painting in coloristics and using her own experimental technique, draws attention to the globally relevant theme of forced relocations. Eugenia was inspired to work with this theme by the history of Travneve village, which survived political repressions during the "Vistula" operation in the 1940s. In her color layers, the artist tries to feel the level of alienation of the descendants of relocation from those houses that still remain in the village and remind of the terrible pages of history. Time is capable of refuting both feelings and memory, so it flips through our memories, leaving facts in the distant past that gets lost in the blue of the pictorial perspective.
